Holland & Knight is trying to enforce a charging lien for unpaid bills in a Miami bankruptcy case.

Holland & Knight is furiously trying to get paid $815,000 it is owed in legal fees, but its former clients are fighting the charging lien equally as hard.
The law firm obtained the lien last year against two Italian companies, Golden Dawn Corp. and Markwood Investments Ltd..
Holland & Knight attorneys Jose Casal, Alex Gonzalez, Brett Barfield and Joaquin Alemany in Miami represented the two companies in a complex bankruptcy case before U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Laurel Isicoff in Miami.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays.
