The Deal: The Holland & Knight team represented the owners of the Mercato in their $240 million cash sale of the 456,000-square-foot retail and office complex in Naples to Prudential Real Estate Investors, the real estate investment arm of Prudential Financial Inc. The deal closed May 8.
Details: The sellers were Barron Collier Cos., which held a 50 percent stake, and the Lutgert Cos. and Madison Marquette, each with a 25 percent ownership interest. Madison Marquette, a Washington-based commercial real estate investment and operating company, acquired its interest in 2011 and will remain Mercato's property manager and leasing broker.
