Before she went to law school, Broward County Court Judge Jill Levy took a year off to race Formula Fords, hoping to go pro.

It wasn’t the crash that made her stop, even though having another racer slam into her as she was going through a turn at Bridgehampton, New York, sent her spinning out of control into a barricade and left her with a broken wrist.
