Longtime Florida State University law dean Donald Weidner—one of the longest-serving deans in the country—is retiring effective June 2016.

Weidner has effectively been dean for nearly 25 years serving as dean from 1991 to 1997, interim dean from 1998 to 2000 and then dean again since 2000. He will stay on as a law professor after his retirement.
