Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Stephen Millan became a lawyer because of his sister's birth defect. He became a judge because of a dying aunt.
His sister was born with special needs, he said. “She didn't get enough oxygen when she was delivered.”
The family didn't discover that until later. His parents got a lawyer and wound up in an emotionally trying and ultimately unsuccessful legal fight to take the hospital to court.
