U.S. Bankruptcy Judge John Olson, who is known for sanctioning lawyers for misbehavior in his courtroom, has found Palm Beach lawyer Tina Talarchyk in contempt of court and ordered her to jail.

In an order issued Tuesday, the Fort Lauderdale bankruptcy judge also suspended Talarchyk of the Talarchyk Firm from practicing in his court as well as her federal court filing privileges. He remanded her to the custody of federal marshals to be held pending payment of $10,949 Olson said she owes to a client trust account.

Talarchyk, who worked at the former Squire, Sanders & Dempsey, Duane Morris and Berger Singerman, argued in a motion for stay pending appeal that she had already deposited the trust fund money in question with the court, was cleared by the Florida Bar and Olson was on a “witch hunt” against her.
