Prominent real estate developer R. Donahue Peebles escaped a $423,100 judgment against him for a real estate broker who claimed he defrauded her of a six-figure commission.

Prominent real estate developer R. Donahue Peebles escaped a $423,100 judgment against him for a real estate broker who claimed he defrauded her of a six-figure commission.
Peebles is developer of The Residences at the Bath Club, a luxe 107-unit project offering multimillion-dollar condos in Miami Beach. But in 2015, a jury found him liable for fraudulent misrepresentation and awarded more than $423,100 to luxury broker Dora Puig.
The litigation shifted in the developer's favor Wednesday, though, when a state appellate court overturned that decision and remanded the case to Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Sarah I. Zabel to order the jury to find in favor of Peebles and his company, PADC Marketing LLC.
