Before Amazon landed a mammoth facility in Miami, a Holland & Knight legal team spent years laying the groundwork.

The e-commerce giant will set up shop in an 800,000-square-foot fulfillment center at the Opa-locka Executive Airport, a move expected to create over 1,000 full-time jobs.

Eight Holland & Knight lawyers worked on the land-use and zoning aspects of a venture code named Project Nebula, which involved negotiating lease issues and economic incentives with Miami-Dade County on behalf of the developers.
