South Florida Lawyers Pouncy, Blitman Win Statewide Awards

Two South Florida attorneys were honored Thursday at the Florida Bar's annual convention in Boca Raton.
Miami-Dade Assistant County Attorney Ashlee Pouncy was named the law-related education attorney of the year. She was recognized for her work on the #JustAdulting app, which helps educate teens about the severe legal consequences of underage drinking, driving under the influence and other crimes.
Pembroke Pines solo practitioner Bruce Blitman of Pembroke Pines was honored with the Justice Teaching Award for volunteer of the year. He teaches fifth-graders at Bethune Elementary about the legal system.
