Attorneys for Gov. Rick Scott argued the Florida Supreme Court should reject a lawsuit challenging the governor’s veto of $37.4 million that would compensate homeowners for healthy citrus trees cut down by the state.
A response filed Tuesday by homeowner attorneys Bruce Rogow and Robert Gilbert asked the court to reverse the veto, arguing it violated the tree owners’ constitutional right to payment of full compensation awarded in the long-running takings litigation.
