A state appellate court Wednesday found ex-Broward Circuit Judge Cynthia Imperato “made several significant errors” in adjudicating a business dispute, including “walking off the bench mid-hearing.”

Imperato, who retired last year after her arrest and conviction for driving under the influence and reckless driving charges, adjudicated litigation stemming from conflicting valuations of a distribution company that E-Commerce Coffee Club attempted to purchase from Miga Holdings Inc., Global Trading & Marketing LLC, Jason Elsner, Espresso Italiano Holding LLC and Luca Minna.

The fight had a “complex and convoluted history,” involving at least three separate lawsuits and an appeal from judgment in one case, according to the Fourth District Court of Appeal ruling. The litigants attempted to settle all lawsuits with a single agreement, but that effort appeared to fizzle and court records show E-Commerce Coffee Club later moved to enforce the settlement.
