Eight South Florida attorneys face Florida Supreme Court discipline, including five who were disbarred for allegations including fraud, misuse of client funds and criminal conduct, the Florida Bar announced Thursday.

Marcy Abitz of Pembroke Pines was disbarred and ordered to pay $9,000 in restitution to an insurance company after she deposited a check the company accidentally mailed her. She didn't respond when the company asked her about the mistake, according to the bar.

Dennis Bedard of Miami was disbarred over claims that he misused client funds. He may seek readmission to the bar in five years.
