Broward County Court Judge Robert F. Diaz has been given the highest judicial award given by the Conference of County Court Judges of Florida each year.

Diaz, who serves in the misdemeanor criminal division, received the Harvey Ford Award at the group's annual conference for demonstrating a high level of service to the community, legal profession and the conference.

He has taught the street law program at Nova Southeastern University for 26 years and was named the law school's adjunct professor of the year this year. He has helped train new judges at Florida's New Judges College for 23 years and was voted Law Related Education Judge of the Year by the Florida Bar in 1996.
