The Palm Beach County home of H. Wayne Huizenga Jr. and his wife, Fonda, is up for sale at a list price of $6.75 million.
Huizenga Jr. is the son of billionaire businessman H. Wayne Huizenga, who, among other things, owned three professional sports teams, including the Miami Dolphins.
The unincorporated lakefront home at 16191 Quiet Vista Circle west of Florida's Turnpike is in the exclusive 37-estate Stone Creek Ranch community. It has seven bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.
The younger Huizenga had the home custom built in 2008.
Already there's been interest with an international buyer inquiring about the mansion Thursday morning, said Billy Nash, who together with his Nash Group of The Keyes Co. is marketing the property.
The 5-acre property is the largest in Stone Creek Ranch, and about half of that is undeveloped, giving the future owner the option to develop that section or leave it as is, said Nash, team leader of the Nash Group.
“Someone that acquires it can do something on one side of the property, whether it's build an amazing guest house, whether it's build a museum for their cars … or you can enjoy it and just have the open grounds like a park,” Nash said.
The property has air-conditioned garages, including a detached garage, Nash said.
The $6.75 million asking price is competitive, he added.
“I think offers will come in at or above the asking price,” he said.
The home is the younger Huizenga and his wife's primary residence, according to Nash.
The younger Huizenga is president of Fort Lauderdale-based Huizenga Holdings Inc., which owns and manages private businesses and real estate properties, and CEO of Rybovich Superyacht Marina in West Palm Beach.
The elder Huizenga is an entrepreneur who in his 20s started his own waste-disposal company and co-founded Waste Management Inc. During his career, he led Blockbuster LLC in the 1980s and sold the video-rental company in the '90s before the market collapsed. Aside from the Dolphins, Huizenga also owned the Florida Panthers and Florida Marlins.
