The state Supreme Court disciplined three South Florida attorneys, including two who were disbarred, the Florida Bar announced Monday.

Renee Binns of Cape Coral was permanently disbarred for practicing law while suspended, among other rule violations. Her prior bar discipline stemmed from failing to respond to a client's calls for six to eight weeks, and otherwise mishandling his case seeking to modify child support and relocate his child.

Binns then failed to pay restitution and didn't tell her clients, judges and opposing counsel about her suspension in a timely manner, according to the bar. She also didn't pay costs. In another case, she was found guilty of neglecting a client matter, failing to provide trust account records and commingling funds.

Carol Kendall of Hollywood was disbarred and ordered to pay $1,075 in restitution to one client. In two different cases, the court found she failed to adequately represent clients. In one case, she didn't take significant action and didn't return the client's calls. In another, she withdrew from the case and the client had to find a new lawyer, according to the bar.

Arturo Dopazo III was suspended for one year for soliciting a client at a hospital. The woman's son was in a motor vehicle crash that caused a traumatic brain injury just days prior.
