Dania Beach Company Gets First FCC Lifeline License in 5 Years

A Washington law firm won the first lifeline wireless phone license from the Federal Communications Commission in more than five years for a Dania Beach company.
Kelley Drye attorneys Michael Dover and Henry Kelly represented Q Link Wireless, which will provide free lifeline phone service in Arkansas under the new license.
Q Link, the nation's third-largest phone company in the program, has 1.9 million customers, and the addition of Arkansas extends its geographic coverage to 29 states. Federal taxes on cell phone usage fund the program.
Q Link founder and CEO Issa Asad said qualifying participants receive a free smartphone, 350 minutes of calling each month, unlimited texts and up to 1 gigabyte of free data.
