Elroy Phillips was convicted of drug conspiracy based on the false testimony of a corrupt West Palm Beach police officer. He was initially sentenced to 30 years years in prison and then 24 years after winning a sentencing appeal.
Phillips came to Miami attorneys Marc Seitles and Ashley Litwin after uncovering evidence that the undercover crack cocaine buy claimed by Officer Michael Ghent with Phillips never happened. The reported buy was used to obtain a search warrant for Phillips' house, where drug paraphernalia and ammunition was found.
