The Miami-Dade criminal courthouse was briefly on lockdown Thursday morning because of a possible security breach involving a gun magazine, according to police.

The Code Brown lasted about 10 minutes and was lifted by 10:45 a.m. in the Richard Gerstein Justice Building at 1351 NW 12th St., a Miami-Dade police spokeswoman said.

The lockdown was ordered as a precaution because it appeared a visitor possibly had a gun magazine based on security footage, police said. No gun was observed.

The scare came less than a day after one of the deadliest school shootings in history took place in neighboring Broward County.
