A Miami Lakes lawyer faces felony charges for allegedly killing a 26-year-old woman in a hit-and-run accident after a night of heavy drinking.

Personal injury attorney Marcos Antonio Gonzalez-Balboa of Hialeah is under arrest, facing four criminal charges in the Dec. 7, 2017, death of Tatum Holloway.

An affidavit filed in support of the arrest warrant includes two bills suggesting Gonzalez-Balboa spent nearly $350 on at least 20 drinks at Bulla Gastrobar in Coral Gables on the evening Holloway was killed. The number of drinks the attorney actually consumed is unknown.

Video footage at the parking garage he left that night showed him stumbling before reaching his car and having trouble paying for parking.

He was charged with drunken-driving manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene of a crash and tampering with physical evidence.

His troubles mounted Tuesday when a civil lawsuit was filed by Holloway's father, Graeme Holloway.

The suit alleges Gonzalez-Balboa left the woman “face down near a gutter at the intersection of Miami Lakes Drive and Fairway Drive.”

Gonzalez-Balboa did not immediately respond to requests for comment, and the cell phone number listed on his Florida Bar profile was out of service.

Plaintiffs lawyers are David Bianchi and Michael E. Levine of Stewart Tilghman Fox Bianchi & Cain and Paul Schwiep of Coffey Burlington.
