A jury found an orthopedist was not to blame for a patient’s foot drop.

On Nov. 30, 2011, Maria Mullen underwent a right knee arthroplasty, which was performed by Dr. Daniel King. During the procedure, King allegedly lacerated the popliteal artery and vein, which required the assistance of a vascular surgeon to repair them. King then completed the knee surgery. Several days later, Mullen developed a right foot drop, which she claimed was caused by King’s surgical error.
