Subtropical Storm Alberto/Credit: National Hurricane Center

It's official. Tropical Storm Alberto has formed in the Caribbean, and all the rainy weather is taking its toll far away.

The Miami Beach Branch Court has been closed indefinitely due to a leaky roof after days of rain.

Miami-Dade County Court Judge Diana Gonzalez-Whyte has relocated her two sections. She is hearing her civil section in the Room 309 at the Miami-Dade County Courthouse in downtown Miami. Her criminal division cases have moved to Room 516 at the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building at 1351 NW 12 St. in Miami.

Court administrators are sending new hearing notices with updated locations for hearings that already had been scheduled in Miami Beach.

The clerk of courts' public service window at the Miami Beach Branch Court remains open.

The National Hurricane Center map shows a potential for six to 10 inches of rain in South Florida and the Tampa Bay area with Alberto sitting off Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula.
