A property manager’s email, entered into the court file as evidence for the plaintiff, proved to be the smoking gun that shifted the course of a lawsuit by relatives of a man who died in a fire.

The message helped Weinstein & Cohen attorneys secure a $3.45 million settlement for the estate of Steven R. Leonard, who was the sole casualty of a Feb. 20, 2015, fire that consumed a historic commercial building in Naples.
