The Miami Beach Branch Court at 1130 Washington Ave. remains closed as repairs to a burst sewer pipe will take longer than anticipated.

The Miami-Dade Circuit Court announced Wednesday that the building will be out of action ”until further notice.”

The City of Miami Beach had been working on the building since May, and expected it would have completed the repairs by now. But an Aug. 8 notice indicated an indefinite closure.

The Clerk of Courts' public service window remains open and unaffected by the repairs, but all county criminal, traffic and civil cases set for future hearings at Miami Beach are canceled. Administrators will issue new notices of hearing and hold proceedings at different locations.

Judge Diana Gonzalez-Whyte, of the County Court Criminal and Civil Divisions in Miami Beach, has moved to the Dade County Courthouse at 73 W. Flagler St., Room 309.

Courthouse administrators advise anyone with questions about county criminal and traffic cases to call 305-520-4220.
