A scooter rider who was injured when she was struck by a turning car received a $1.1 million settlement.

On June 21, 2014, Jacqueline Walters, then 63, was riding her scooter on Cheney Highway in Titusville when she was struck by a car operated by Charlotte Iwan, who was leaving a parking lot. Walters suffered multiple thoracic fractures, herniated cervical and thoracic discs, and a bulging cervical disc. She also suffered tears of her left shoulder’s rotator cuff and aggravated an existing condition in her left wrist. She received multiple injections and ultimately required surgery on her spine, shoulder and wrist.
