PALM BEACH CIRCUIT COURT

A driver in West Palm Beach was awarded money for medical expenses but failed to persuade a jury that a rear-end collision with a pickup truck left her permanently injured.

In 2016, Judith Wilson, 51, was slowing her sedan on Northlake Boulevard near the Shoppes at Ibis mall when the truck hit her car. She alleged the driver, Daniel Tittarelli, was negligent and claimed the impact caused several herniated and bulging spinal discs which required chiropractic care, surgery and physical therapy. She missed a few days of work and said it was hard to care for her dogs, her property and her elderly mother.

The defense denied Wilson was permanently injured and claimed she may have only aggravated a spine condition. The jury awarded Wilson $62,512 for past medical expenses. Case: Wilson v. Tittarelli
