Two Miami attorneys have departed Kluger, Kaplan, Silverman, Katzen & Levine to form their own firm.

Segal Zuckerman founders Richard Segal and Jamie Zuckerman will focus on business litigation, family law, and trust and estate litigation.

The lifelong neighborhood friends and South Florida natives were partners at Kluger Kaplan and decided to launch their own firm after working together for almost decade.

“This has always been a dream of mine,” Segal said. “Jamie and I have the same philosophy in providing top-notch strategy to our clients and truly working together on each and every case.”

They represent clients in partnership, shareholder, board, corporate and contract disputes and real estate matters. The family law practice includes divorces involving complex distributions and business valuation issues, and asset protection through prenuptial and post-nuptial agreements. In trust and estate litigation, the two represent trustees, personal representatives, beneficiaries and other parties in probate matters, estates, trusts, guardianships and fiduciaries.

“The legal industry is constantly evolving, and we want to be able to provide our clients with a specialized service of two attentive partners,” Segal said.

Both are on the board of the Mount Sinai Medical Center Foundation. Zuckerman also sits on the board of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation.

The attorneys are operating out of an Aventura office at 20801 Biscayne Blvd. and plan to return to downtown Miami after their new office is completed later this year. The firm has created a homepage at www.segalzuckerman.com but the website remains under construction.
