DISCRIMINATION

ESCAMBIA CIRCUIT COURT

A judge denied any recovery for a transgender woman who claimed discrimination while attending an all-male dance revue advertised for “ladies only.”

Nevaeh Love had a VIP ticket, but she was told she had to go to the back of the room or leave. Love claimed a member of the group organizing the event, Katoshia Young, had a group member tell her to move because she was transgender.

Young contended Love was only asked to change seats because the dancers did not wish their sexually suggestive touching to include an anatomical male audience member. Young also denied knowing Love was transgender and denied sole responsibility for the decision to ask her to move. The judge found no discrimination by Young.
