MOTOR VEHICLE

PALM BEACH CIRCUIT COURT

A jury awarded $148,637 to a woman who claimed she suffered spinal injuries in a rear-end collision.

On Feb. 22, 2015, Charity Wilson was driving on Forest Hill Boulevard when she stopped suddenly to avoid a pickup truck that reversed out of a driveway. She was then rear-ended by Daniel Braff's vehicle. Wilson claimed she suffered herniated cervical, thoracic and lumbar discs. She also claimed Braff wasn't paying attention, noting she stopped in time to avoid hitting the pickup truck but Braff didn't stop in time.

The defense claimed the pickup driver was partially to blame and denied Wilson was injured in the crash. The jury found Braff 100 percent liable.
