MOTOR VEHICLE

PALM BEACH CIRCUIT COURT

The driver of a sport utility vehicle got a $450,000 settlement for spinal injuries suffered in a rear-end crash.

On July 2, 2016, Debra Greenhill, then 59, was stopped at the traffic signal at Military Trail and Indiantown Road in Jupiter when her SUV was struck from behind by a box truck owned by Sharpe Delivery Service Inc. and driven by its employee, Fabian Gray.

Greenhill claimed she suffered herniated and bulging cervical, thoracic and lumbar discs. She was treated with facet injections, facet rhizotomies and a cervical fusion.

The defense disputed the cause of Greenhill's injuries, claiming she had a history of significant spinal problems. The defendants' insurer settled based on a $1 million policy limit.
