Suzanne Bogdan, regional managing partner of Fisher & Phillips in Fort Lauderdale, has taken over as chairwoman of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce for the year.

Bogdan served for nine years as the chamber's general counsel and was on the leadership track to take charge for two years. In her new voluntary position, she will help determine priorities and implement strategies for enriching Broward County's business community.

The chamber is the largest business organization in the county with 1,300 members employing nearly 500,000 people.

At the law firm, Bogdan advises and represents clients in employment law and risk management, including discrimination, disabilities, leave, wage-and-hour and preventive maintenance.

She is the nationwide chairwoman of the firm's education practice group, working with hundreds of private educational institutions, accrediting agencies and school associations.

Atlanta-based Fisher & Phillips ranked 128 on the National Law Journal's 2018 NLJ 500 list of firms based on size with 330 attorneys in over 30 offices.
