FisherBroyles has opened a Miami office, its second base in Florida and 22nd office overall.
The Miami office is staffed by four new partners—Robert Wright Jr., Irene Oria, Janet Moreira, and Casey Cusick—as well as four existing FisherBroyles partners—Wayne Alder, Robert Graziano and Susan Warner—who previously worked from the firm's other Florida office in Naples.
The firm's Miami-based partners practice in various areas of the law, including complex business litigation covering an array of corporate matters, as well as employment, health care, real estate and intellectual property. The new hires come from a variety of practices and firms.
Wright does high-stakes business litigation in Florida and in federal trial and appellate courts. He previously practiced at Mershon, Sawyer, Johnston, Dunwody & Cole; Shutts & Bowen; Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, McPherson & Hand; and Stroock & Stroock & Lavan.
Oria is a former assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Florida and handles complex commercial business litigation in federal and state courts and arbitration tribunals. She focuses on financial services, insurance and securities litigation, including nationwide class and multidistrict litigation. She previously practiced at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan; Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP (formerly Hunton & Williams); Morgan, Lewis & Bockius; and Lowenstein Sandler.
Moreira focuses her practice on the protection, licensing and enforcement of intellectual property, specializing in international and domestic trademarks. She previously practiced at Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson.
Cusick represents businesses and individuals in a diverse array of complex commercial disputes. He most recently was a partner in charge of the commercial litigation practice at a Miami-area boutique firm. He also practiced for several years at the midsize litigation boutique now known as Kluger, Kaplan, Silverman, Katzen & Levine.
“We are very excited to continue our strategic growth nationwide with the opening of our second Florida office and our first presence in the vibrant city of Miami,” FisherBroyles co-founder and managing partner Kevin E. Broyles said in a statement. “As a firm, we are always working to make sure we are positioned wherever our clients need us, and that we are hiring top legal talent. Our move into Miami and the additions of Robert, Irene, Janet and Casey help us to achieve both goals.”
FisherBroyles is known for allowing its attorneys to work from anywhere, in what is often referred to as a “Virtual Office,” though the firm has physical offices in cities across the United States.
The new Miami office is located at 1221 Brickell Ave., Suite 900.
