Lorne Cantor and Evan Kanter have joined Jones Day as Miami partners in the mergers and acquisitions practice from Greenberg Traurig.

They “bring significant corporate transactional experience that will complement what we are doing here and in our M&A practice worldwide,” said Tony Dias, the Miami partner in charge and co-leader of the firm's financial institutions litigation and regulation practice.

Cantor represents multinational companies on M&A, joint venture and financing transactions with experience in the gaming, hospitality and transportation sectors. He spent 14 years at Greenberg Traurig after working at Camner Lipsitz & Poller and Baker & McKenzie.

Kanter's practice focuses on M&A, capital raising, joint ventures and general corporate law and business matters, handling transactions in the gaming, hospitality, medical technology and health care sectors. He was with Greenberg Traurig for two years.

“Lorne and Evan are not only excellent additions in Miami, they make our leading M&A practice even stronger,” said Lyle Ganske, who leads Jones Day's global M&A practice. “Their vast experience leading transactions for corporate and private equity clients is valuable to our ongoing service to clients.”

Jones Day has more than 2,500 lawyers in 43 offices across five continents, ranking ninth on the Am Law 100 list based on revenue. The firm opened its Miami office in 2013, and its website lists 37 attorneys.
