Holland & Knight has hired private equity and M&A partner Omari Sealy from DLA Piper in Miami.
Sealy represents private equity firms and corporations in connection with mergers and acquisitions and other general corporate matters, including control acquisitions and dispositions, corporate finance transactions, commercial contracts and joint ventures.
“Omari is an extremely focused and driven attorney with private equity transaction experience that is hard to match,” David Barkus, co-leader of the firm's South Florida corporate practice, said in a statement. “Many of Omari's transactions have been in healthcare, which is a particular strength of our firm. We are very pleased to welcome him to our team.”
Sealy stated that he was attracted to Holland & Knight's corporate practice in Miami because of its reputation and recent growth. “The firm has a collaborative culture that appeals to me and a practice mix that complements my transactional skills and experience,” he said.
DLA Piper did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the departure.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays.
