Betsy Alvarez-Zane has been formally sworn in as a Miami-Dade County Court judge. She was a solo insurance, family and traffic litigator who also handled real estate closings when she ran unopposed for an open seat last year. She now presides in a criminal division. Alvarez-Zane graduated from the University of Miami School of Law in 1987 and has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1991.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M.
