Hinshaw & Culbertson attorneys Barbara Fernandez and Ross Manella have been promoted to managing partners of the firm's Miami and Fort Lauderdale offices, respectively.

Fernandez is a litigator who joined the firm as an associate in 2002. She focuses her practice on consumer financial services and class action litigation. Her clients include lending institutions, debt collection agencies, loan servicing institutions, debt buyers and lawyers.

“Barbara Fernandez is an excellent lawyer and also a highly effective leader within the firm, having built a successful law practice on the basis of outstanding client service,” Peter Sullivan, Hinshaw & Culbertson's chairman, said in a statement. “She is perfectly aligned with our strategic goals of growth and innovative service delivery, and we appreciate her willingness to take on this new role.”

Manella joined Hinshaw in 2002 and has spent more than 35 years representing clients in commercial and residential real estate, mortgage transactions, corporate and commercial matters, and domestic and offshore incorporations. Fluent in French and a member of the Québec Canada Bar, Manella represents many Canadian and European clients.

“We look forward to his leadership and to the continued development of practice areas such as labor & employment, immigration, health care, commercial litigation, business transactions and real estate,” Sullivan said.
