ORANGE CIRCUIT COURT

A court ruled against a pastor who claimed she was injured on a bus taking her to Walt Disney World.

Beverly Bilbo, 53, said she fell and fractured her right elbow when a Disney World bus transporting her and her family from their hotel to the Magic Kingdom suddenly stopped. Bilbo sued Walt Disney Parks and Resorts U.S. Inc. alleging negligence.

Defense counsel blamed inattention and claimed the pastor failed to listen to the audio recording on the bus, which advised passengers to find a seat or hold onto the handrails. After the plaintiff rested its case, the defense moved for a directed verdict. It argued Bilbo failed to prove the bus had stopped inappropriately. The court granted the defense motion.
