It took more than a year, but the delay in the formal investiture of U.S. Attorney Ariana Fajardo Orshan gave her time to burnish her reputation —and get some work done — in the Southern District of Florida.

One of the priorities for the first woman to serve as the district’s top prosecutor was hiring, and she said since her confirmation in August 2018 she exhausted the hiring committee by bringing on 149 attorneys to work in one of the nation’s busiest districts and with a staff of about 500.
