A waterfront Miami Beach mansion that belonged to business executive G. Peter D'Aloia, a former executive with Trane and Honeywell, traded for $14.6 million.

D'Aloia, whose ventures mostly are in chemical and industrial companies, and his wife, Marguerite D'Aloia, sold their Sunset Islands mansion west of Miami Beach to S. Noble Martin, a trustee of the 1435 Irrevocable Trust. The deal closed Sept. 11, and the deed was posted Tuesday.

The D'Aloias sold the home at a loss of about $1 million after paying $15.5 million for it in January 2014.

The 11,934-square-foot, two-story home at 1435 W. 27th St. has five bedrooms and three bathrooms, according to the Miami-Dade County property records. The estate was constructed in 2013 on a quarter-acre lot.

D'Aiola has held executive positions and served on various boards of directors.

He is on the board of Wabco Holdings Inc., a Belgium-based provider of automation systems for heavy-duty commercial vehicles, and Livent Corp., a Philadelphia-based publicly traded lithium products maker.

He was managing member of Ascend Performance Materials Holdings Inc., a Houston-based plastics, chemical and fibers company, from 2009 to 2017. Its products are used in everything from apparel to car engines with its most notable product being Nylon 66.

D'Aloia previously was senior vice president and chief financial officer of Trane Inc., a Dublin-Ireland-based maker of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems, and vice president of Honeywell International Inc., a Charlotte, North Carolina-based conglomerate that makes commercial and consumer products.
