The Florida Supreme Court has suspended Boca Raton divorce attorney Erica Helene Kobloth after she was held in contempt of court for failing to respond to Florida Bar inquiries sent in September and November 2018.

The Palm Beach Circuit Grievance Committee found Kobloth had not complied with Florida Bar Rule 3-7.11 (f), which governs disciplinary procedure, when she failed to answer a complaint that claimed she hadn't shown up for July 2018 trial in a Broward divorce case.

Kobloth is also delinquent on fees, according to her Florida Bar profile. Court filings reveal she had filed an emergency motion in the underlying divorce case disclosing that she had moved to New Jersey, but the bar's efforts to reach her there were also fruitless.

Emails to Kobloth bounced back, her firm's website has shut down and the telephone number listed on her bar profile no longer appears to be hers.

The state court has ordered Kobloth to pay $1,250 in administrative costs. Her suspension will take effect Jan. 12 and continue until she responds to the bar's inquiry.

Kobloth, admitted to practice in 2012, is one of 10 lawyers who've been suspended since Nov. 21, while five others were disbarred, according to information the Florida Bar released Friday.
