Two Am Law 200 firms have announced shake-ups in their Florida office leadership: transactional partner Jorge Diaz-Silveira will take over Hogan Lovells' Miami office and labor partner Lori Baggett has been tapped to lead Carlton Fields' Tampa office.

Diaz-Silveira succeeds cross-border litigator Richard Lorenzo, who had held the position since 2011. Diaz-Silveira first joined Hogan Lovells in 2002 and built a transactional practice representing clients in cross-border infrastructure deals, mainly within Latin America. Arbitration partner Maria Eugenia Ramirez will remain administrative partner of the Miami office.

Baggett succeeds Luis "Lu" Prats, who led the office for two years. Her labor practice specializes in advising companies on workplace safety and health issues before the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. She represents clients in a range of industries including retail and energy. An African American woman, Baggett co-chairs Carlton Fields' Women's Alliance and is a past fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity.

In 2019, she established the Baggett Family Scholarship at Stetson University College of Law, a needs-based scholarship for African American law students. With her appointment, women and minorities now lead or co-lead six of the firm's 11 offices.
