PREMISES LIABILITY

CHARLOTTE CIRCUIT COURT

A jury decided a Port Charlotte auto dealership owes nothing to a customer who claimed she injured herself when she slipped on liquid in a service bay.

Karen Ann Jones claimed she slipped in water at Harbor Nissan owned by Freeland Moore Inc. in Port Charlotte.

Employees conceded the area was often wet when it rained, but the defense insisted the woman fell n a dry day. The defense also claimed the service bay was cleaned before opening each day, and Jones, who was the first customer of the day, could not have encountered wet conditions.
