A judge awarded more than $300,000 to a bar patron who was sucker-punched by a drunken customer.
Erik Ross, 44 at the time of the May 2017 incident, was floored by the blow and suffered an leg fracture that required surgery. He claimed he suffers ongoing pain and swelling. He sued the owner of Boonies Bar & Grill in Loxahatchee Groves.
The bar's operator defaulted, and the matter proceeded to a bench trial. Judge James Nutt awarded Ross $301,505.
