A sick employee who worked Thursday in Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Diana Gonzalez-Whyte's civil courtroom is being tested for coronavirus, and the results are due Monday.

The employee received medical care for flu-like symptoms and is in self-quarantine, the court said in a statement Friday.

The circuit issued an advisory Friday suggesting visitors to the courtroom at the Miami-Dade County Courthouse at 73 W. Flagler St. in downtown Miami should watch for signs of fever, cough or difficulty breathing for two weeks.

This is the second health advisory released by the circuit for possible exposure to sick employees. The other worked Tuesday and Wednesday in the criminal courtrooms of Circuit Judges Miguel de la O and Gina Beovides. No additional information was released on that employee's health.

Anyone concerned about exposure was advised to check guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Protection.
