Former Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Jorge Perez joined Kelley Kronenberg as a business unit leader and partner in the law firm's Davie office handling commercial litigation, business insolvency, receiverships and other fiduciary matters.

Perez left the bench in 2007 after presiding over about 100 trials in four years to join Tew Cardenas and most recently was with Dickinson Wright in Fort Lauderdale.

He started his legal career as assistant district counsel for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in Miami, representing the federal government in administrative and judicial immigration proceedings.

Perez is involved in the Hispanic National Bar Association, the Federalist Society and the Miami Dade Justice Association and is a founding member of the nationally recognized It's Your Life foster child transition program.
