Dec. 14, 2018, wasn’t a typical day for the Key West Police Department, because that’s the day its officers arrested and jailed an 8-year-old boy, sparking public outcry when footage was released months later.

And now, it’s resulted in a lawsuit in the Southern District of Florida, filed Tuesday by civil rights attorneys Ben Crump of Ben Crump Law in Tallahassee and Devon Jacob of Jacob Litigation Inc. in Pennsylvania.
