The family of a bystander who was shot and killed during an argument between strangers in a Broward parking lot has recovered a $1 million settlement in their negligent-security lawsuit.

And for Coral Gables plaintiffs lawyers Todd Michaels and Michael Haggard of the Haggard Law Firm, it was a victory that hinged on a stinging confrontation with a security guard, who appeared to be caught in a lie during his deposition.
