Litigation over construction at West Matheson Hammock Park reveals deep divisions between a ritzy Coral Gables enclave next door and visiting dog walkers.

The 98-acre Miami-Dade County park, which has been designated an environmentally endangered National Forest Community, is west of Old Cutler Road and part of the larger oceanfront Matheson Hammock Park. Pioneer William Matheson donated most of the land in 1930.
