In less than two weeks, the American people will have their final chance to vote to select the next U.S. president. And South Florida lawyers say the current election climate is reminiscent of the litigation battle in the 2000 election between then-candidates George W. Bush and Albert A. Gore Jr.

Litigators said the contested punch-card ballots in 2000 have been replaced by vote-by-mail ballots in 2020. Also that the quick deadline to resolve a contested presidential election seen 20 years ago can complicate any issue that might arise this time around, too.
