Miami developer Irwin Tauber is accused in a civil lawsuit of running over a swimmer with his 41-foot power boat, leaving the scene without helping her and causing permanent injuries.

Tauber, CEO of Taubco, was speeding in a shallow manatee zone popular with swimmers, kayakers and paddleboarders in Biscayne Bay near Bay Harbor Islands on April 28, according to a Miami-Dade Circuit Court lawsuit filed Monday. He ran over Theresa Murray, whose left leg and foot tissue and nerves were cut to the bone. Her tibia, talus and two foot bones were broken.
