A full federal appeals court ordered a Fort Lauderdale judge to discard Godiva Chocolatier’s $6.3 million class action settlement and dismiss the lawsuit to boot, finding the lead plaintiff lacked standing. 

Judge Britt Grant of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit wrote the majority opinion reversing a panel decision. With separate dissents from Judges Charles Wilson, Beverly Martin and Aldaberto Jordan, the opinion stretched to 148 pages.
